Start with the installed screen.
Front maintenance means designated service components can be accessed from the display face. Rear maintenance means service is performed from behind the screen. The exact service scope varies: a front-removable module does not automatically mean every component is front-serviceable. Confirm access to modules, power supplies, receiving cards and cabling individually.
Check the structure as well as the cabinet.
A front-service cabinet needs compatible framing and enough room to remove its components safely. A rear-service design needs a usable service route and access space behind the display. For a flush wall installation, rear-only access can become impractical. For a freestanding outdoor sign, rear access may be straightforward if the structure is designed for it.
Make service access a drawing requirement.
Ask for cabinet dimensions, component removal directions, cable entry positions and mounting details. Then review those requirements with the installer before steelwork is made. Include the access strategy in the quotation and installation drawings so that a substitution does not change the service method unnoticed.
